How to Apply Eyeshadow
Using eyeshadow can be one of the most powerful ways to make your eyes pop. Although most people apply it above the eyes, it can also be applied under the eyes or on the brow bones. Eyeshadow can also be applied to the face with a brush or with your fingers. Just be sure that whatever method you use allows you to blend it in well.
Before applying eyeshadow, be sure to prime your eyelids. This will help keep your eyeshadow in place and keep it looking fresh. Eyeshadow primer is especially important if you have oily eyelids or find that eyeshadow tends to crease on your lids. Next, add your color. Most eyeshadow looks can easily be created with four shades: a neutral shade for your lid, a medium shade for your crease, a dark shade for your outer corner, and a light shade to highlight your inner corner and brow bone.
If you want a natural look, opt for a color close to your skin tone. Otherwise, you can always choose a light shimmer for sparkly styles or go with a dark color to create a smoky eye effect. Use your flat brush to apply the lightest eyeshadow shade to the inner corner of the eyes. You can use that same color to highlight the arch of your eyebrows. To apply the medium shade, use a blending brush right above the crease, blending from the outer corner inwards.
